What is Kaspa (KAS)?
Kaspa (KAS) is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency launched in 2021. It uses a blockDAG structure called GHOSTDAG, allowing multiple blocks to be created simultaneously, resulting in fast transaction confirmations and high throughput. KAS can be generated through mining.
How does Kaspa's technology work?
Kaspa utilizes the GHOSTDAG protocol, a blockDAG that differs from traditional blockchains. Instead of discarding orphan blocks, GHOSTDAG incorporates them into consensus, enabling high block rates (one block per second). This allows fast confirmations and scalability while maintaining proof-of-work security.
What is the KAS token used for?
The KAS token is the native cryptocurrency of the Kaspa network. It is used as a medium of exchange, for transaction fees, and as a store of value. KAS is mined through proof-of-work, and its supply is capped, providing scarcity. The token is also used within the network's decentralized ecosystem.
How does Kaspa differ from Bitcoin?
While both Kaspa and Bitcoin use proof-of-work, Kaspa implements a blockDAG (GHOSTDAG) instead of a linear blockchain.
