Pipe Network

Pipe Network is a project building a decentralised content delivery network, with its PIPE token issued on Solana. Instead of serving files from a provider's own data centres, a decentralised CDN routes requests to independently operated nodes positioned near users. The project publishes technical documentation and maintains public code repositories.

A traditional CDN is run by one company that owns or leases its edge servers. A decentralised design instead pays independent operators to cache and serve content, coordinating them through a protocol and settling payments on chain. The trade-off is broader, permissionless capacity in exchange for more complex coordination and quality control.

PIPE is issued as an SPL token on Solana, so it settles on that network with fees paid in SOL. In networks of this design the token is typically the unit used to pay for delivery capacity and to compensate node operators; the project's documentation is the authoritative description of its exact mechanics.
